THE WALKWAY OVER THE HUDSON
The Transformation of the landmark 1888 Poughkeepsie-Highland railroad bridge into a spectacular park and trailway 212 feet over the Hudson River was completed in the fall of 2009.
WALKWAY TRAIL LOOP
Combining the historic Walkway Over the Hudson, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Mid-Hudson Bridge, several state and local parks, the agricultural traditions of the Town of Lloyd and the variety of the City of Poughkeepsie, the Walkway Trail Loop provides a compact 3.5 mile experience of the diverse wonders of the Hudson Valley.
HUDSON RIVER SKYWALK
See America’s first canvas with the Hudson River Skywalk, a new historic and scenic walkway at the place where American landscape painting began. The new walkway connects the homes and studios of the major Hudson River School artists, Thomas Cole and Frederic Church, over the Hudson River and across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, offering sweeping views of the Hudson River Valley and the Catskill Mountains.
EMPIRE STATE TRAIL
The Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge is part of the Empire State Trail, a multi-use trail extending from NYC to Canada and from Albany to Buffalo.

APPALACHIAN TRAIL
The Bear Mountain Bridge was one of the first sections of the AT, a 2,193-mile hiking trail stretching from Maine to Georgia.
